Aurelio Settimo

The Settimo family estate is the largest property within the Rocche dell’Annunziata MGA, which in itself could be something to brag about. Tiziana Settimo, however, is someone unaccustomed to the clamor of the limelight: she prefers to focus on work that respects tradition, without any concessions, shaping Barolo wines that are authentic examples of classicism. They can be edgy and at times almost hostile, yet in the right vintages they are true gems of a bygone era.
It’s a stylistic profile that should come as no surprise given that Tiziana likes over-ripening even less than the spotlight; she opts to harvest early to keep alcohol content at a reasonable level, even at the expense of less harmony. It’s a very personal vision and typical of an inspired winemaker who enhances the world of Barolo in a very unobtrusive way.

The vineyard included in the Arborina MGA is the only one used for varieties other than nebbiolo, specifically dolcetto.
