Elvio Cogno Barolo Cascina Nuova
BAROLO CASCINA NUOVA
This Barolo is the expression of the younger vineyards of the large amphitheater at the foot of Cascina Nuova and in particular of the central plot colored in yellow in the first image.
Therefore exposure is very similar to that of Barolo Ravera, differing only due to a slight rotation toward the southeast.
The soils are identical as expressions of laminated Sant’Agata Fossili Marls.
New plantings of Nebbiolo vines in the Panerole and Cerviano Merli MGAs are due to become part of the final assembly in coming years.
This means that starting from the 2023 harvest, when the new vineyards of Panerole and Cerviano Merli enter into production, Barolo Cascina Nuova will become a blended wine and no longer an expression of purity of the MGA Ravera.
